Emerson U. Fullwood is the retired Corporate Vice President of Xerox Corporation, a leading technology and global services company. He joined Xerox in 1972; as a corporate executive, he led a distinguished career for 36+ years. Mr. Fullwood directed Xerox’s large global office products and systems business. He served as President of Xerox Worldwide Channels Group, President of Latin America, President of Worldwide Customer Services Group, and Executive Chief Staff Officer of Developing Markets Group. In his most recent assignment, Mr. Fullwood was Executive Chief and Marketing Officer for Xerox North America. He held several executive and general management leadership positions within Xerox through his career.

An active business leader, Mr. Fullwood serves on several business, higher education, and philanthropic boards. Currently, he serves as a Director of the Vanguard Group and Vanguard funds, SPX Corporation, and Amerigroup Corporation.  He was a former Director of General Signal Corporation.   He frequently is named among the nation’s top executives, earning recognition in 2007 from Black Enterprise magazine as one of the “75 Most Powerful African-Americans in Corporate America,” and in 2004, from VAR Businessmagazine, as one of the “Top 100 Executives” responsible for supporting computer resellers.

A passionate community leader, Mr. Fullwood currently serves as a board member and/or officer for a wide range of organizations, including: University of Rochester Medical Center, North Carolina A&T University,  Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, Monroe Community College, the Rochester, N.Y. Urban League, United Way of Greater Rochester, Rochester Boy Scouts of America. He also works with several professional and church organizations.

Through the years, Mr. Fullwood has received numerous business and community awards. At the Rochester Institute of Technology, he was the 2009 Minett Professor and currently serves as the Executive-in-Residence at the RIT Saunders College of Business.

Mr. Fullwood holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from North Carolina State University, an MBA in marketing from Columbia University, and an honorary doctorate from North Carolina A&T University.   He and his wife, Vernita, have two daughters and reside in Pittsford, N.Y., a suburb of Rochester.
